Founder's Kentucky Breakfast Stout Released

Founders-Kentucky-Breakfast-Stout This morning we received our annual allocation (1/2 of last year's allotment) of a brew that ranks in just about every beer enthusiasts's top ten list. This seasonally sold beer is so sought after, when it does make it to shelves in our area, it doesn't last long.

This year even though production was increased, demand for this brew is so strong that allocations were cut to distributors nationwide and even to those lucky attendees at the brewery's release party. Hopefully next year with the brewery increasing production 3 fold this wonderful beer will not be so scarce.

What we've got here is an imperial stout brewed with a massive amount of coffee and chocolates, then cave-aged in oak bourbon barrels for an entire year to make sure wonderful bourbon undertones come through in the finish. Makes your taste buds squeal with delight. - brewery description

Leinenkugel's Big Eddy Series

leinekugel-big-eddy-scotch-aleThe next release in Leinenkugel’s Big Eddy Series has arrived - Wee Heavy Scotch Ale. The series started years ago with a draft only Imperial IPA. Then last year, Big Eddy Russian Imperial Stout arrived. In 2012, the brewery will expand the line to include Wee Heavy Scotch Ale, a Baltic Porter, and another new style they are still deciding on. There are also some barrel aged Big Eddy experiments.

Celiac Safe!

prairiepath

TWO BROTHERS Prairie Path "Gluten Free" Golden Ale

Prairie Path has been shown to be Celiac Safe! Bottles of Prairie Path Golden Ale labeled beyond 2/2/12 are below 5 ppm gluten.

Warrenville-based Two Brothers Brewing Company doesn't get the press of Goose Island or the die-hard hopheads who drink only Three Floyds, but they deserve a place at the table with those two. Since their first bottles rolled off the production line in 1998, Jim and Jason Ebel now find their beers available throughout the Midwest, reaching east to Pennsylvania and Massachusets.
