Sensational Saturday Tasting
It is St. Patrick's Day next week and when most people think about St. Patrick's Day, it's usually with one thing in mind - a party! While the green beer is certain to flow on this holiday, wine is also quite popular. HUGUES BEAULIEU Picpoul De Pinet 2008
Languedoc, France
100% Picpoul, aka Folle Blanche. Pale yellow color with green tints. Lime flavors with typical focusing acidity are hallmarks of Picpoul. This attractive white wine has the seemingly contradictory characteristics of lightness and substance. This Picpoul is dry, medium-bodied and it's very much at home with seafood, chicken and even pizzas.

Kuhl is the German word meaning 'cool'. Riesling, when paired with spicy food, cools your palate. Just a drop of Riesling will kuhl you down on a hot summer day and kuhl the fire on your palate after a spicy meal. A very floral nose proceeds flavors of honey, pear, white peach and a hint of citrus. This refreshing treat is a perfect companion for any meal or snack.

An entertaining name, easy-drinking wine style, and incomparable value provide a memorable wine experience. Leaping Lizard Merlot exhibits plum and cassis aromas that are layered with notes of dried sage and rosemary. There is spiciness on the nose that extends through the palate. Flavors of plum, red cherry and red berry fruit lead to a finish of fine grain tannins and slight toastiness.
