Sensational Saturday Tasting

Tour de France!
Saturday, July 17th, 2010
12:00noon - 4:00pm
Price: Complimentary

VOUVRAY Domaine Pichot Le Peu de la Moriette 2008, Loire Valley, France
With aromas of seashells, citrus and white peach blossom, this shows how low yields bring out the best of Vouvray which is beyond question the best of Touraine. Chenin Blanc as a variety can offer up myriad scents and tastes but Pichot shows its playful, sprightly side. With a clean, bright, polished peach and taut mouthwatering mineral on the palate, it is round in the mouth and charms you with an everlasting aroma of white peach on the polished finish.

MARECHAL 'Cuvee Gravel' Bourgogne 2007, Burgundy, France
Cuvee Gravel is the real thing. Catherine & Claude Marechal are good at producing beautifully expressive Pinot Noir at incredibly reasonable prices. Claude Marechal has a natural approach to tending his vineyards and a low impact style of wine making. Minimal treatments, low yields, and judicious use of oak barrels in the vinification process
allow wines to express what Burgundy really is. The Bourgogne Cuvee Gravel is a prime example of this type of wine. This wine is packed with up-front raspberry fruit and finishes long with ripe Pinot Noir aromas.

SEIGNEURS de BERGERAC Rose 2009, Bergerac, France
50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc
This light fresh rose from the heart of Bergerac has a charming mix of strawberry and spice in the nose. It is well-balanced and fruity on the palate, and has the good acidity that leads to a crisp, clean finish. This will be a great spring and summertime pleasure, with light cuisine or by itself.

DOMAINE de la GUICHARDE Cotes due Rhone 2009, France
Domaine de la Guicharde's Grenache and Syrah beauty shows a deep plum color and a bright core of raspberry-inflected Grenache fruit. Swirl and sniff and you're greeted with healthy, vibrant aromas of tree-ripened plums, licorice, star anise, tar and stony earth. Bright on the palate and bursting with energy, vibrancy and stony minerality, this is again the best value going in authentic, old-school Southern Rhone rouge.

CHATEAU de MUSSET Lalande de Pomerol 2007, Bordeaux, France
70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc & 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Rich and attractive Merlot aromas are your first impression of this medium bodied red. The wine displays lovely plum and cherry flavors on the palate, complimented with light herbal accents. A classic Merlot, with great texture and a soft earthy finish.

P.S. We offer a great lunch in our Wine Bar Cafe. Stop by for the fun, stop by to refresh and refuel. Join us for 'Lunch and a Taste' every Saturday at Sun Singer.
