ZOCKER Gruner Veltliner 'Paragon Vineyard' 2007
Edna Valley, California $19.99
Gruner Veltliner is very rare domestically, but is the single most popular white wine in its native Austria. It is truly one of the most food-friendly wines in the world. It even works with vegetables notoriously difficult to pair with like like artichokes and asparagus.Rich and round but with great acid structure, this wine is steely and has good minerality. It has a bit of an earthy characteristic, a note of white pepper, and flavors of ripe melon and fruit cocktail.

PEIRANO ESTATE 'The Other' 2008, Lodi, California $12.99
One is immediately struck by the vibrant color of this wine. The aromas of apples, pears, tropical fruit, and a whiff of bubble gum are complemented by hints of coconut and vanilla. Lush flavors of fresh ripe pears, apples, tropical fruit and homemade lemon pie lead to a long, totally seductive, finish.

MILBRANDT 'Traditions' Riesling 2008, Columbia Valley, Washington $11.99
The 2008 Traditions Riesling shows why Eastern Washington is becoming a hub for Riesling. It is ripe, fresh and highly aromatic. The nose combines peaches and apricots. The flavors are rich, lush and juicy. The finish is off dry and balanced.

COLOSI Sicilia Rosso 2007, Sicily, Italy $13.49
Made from 100% Nero d'Avola, it shows plenty of ripe, vivid plum and berry fruit, fresh acidity and enough fleshiness to make it almost drinkable straight up.  a delicious, full-bodied wine with a generous core of fruit, and an engaging, compelling personality. Be seduced by its purity, sweetness and length, in fact you may have a hard time putting your glass down. This wine is almost too good for the money.

TWENTY BENCH Cabernet Sauvignon 2007, Napa Valley, California $21.49
The 2007 Twenty Bench shows amazing depth and purity of flavor. A rich and expressive style Cabernet Sauvignon, showcasing focused layers of blackberry, plum, wild berry and currant intermixed with spicy toasted oak, which adds a nice flavor dimension. This wine drinks wonderfully right out of the gate and should age gracefully for the next 5 - 7 yrs.
