Greetings my fellow tasters! While I am typing these words, the basketball game is about to take place… Go Illini! We’ll have some wine to talk about and the game…! We’ll start with the Graham Beck Brut Sparkling, a gorgeous sparkling wine from South Africa, a value of great elegance. Then we travel to Italy with a Gavi de Gavi, made with the Cortese grape. It is dry, fruity, fresh and very seductive…Then… We welcome back St. Supery Cabernet Sauvignon on our shelves, a classic from Califronia, nuanced and smooth, and we’ll finish with the 1000 Stories Zinfandel, aged in a Bourbon barrel - something unique created by Bob Blue Winemaker, of a nice complexity. I will definitely open those reds at 11h00 am!!!!
A Votre Sante!

Saturday Tastings
Complimentary Wine Tastings Every Saturday 12Noon - 4:00pm
Greetings my friends!
For Saturday the 21st of February tasting we’ll start with two white wines who are a little difficult to witrite and/or to pronounce: the first one is a wine from the Txakoli appelation, near the Basque country made with the grape Hondarabbi Zuri, showing some freshness, with floral hints; the second one is a Gewurztraminer, from Alsace … With the third wine we’ll go back to the border between France and Spain with a Fitou; not too far from Corbieres, and Picpoul de Pinet….This wine is nothing short of “extraordinaire” and drink like a much more expensive Chateauneuf-du-Pape! We’ll finish with a trendy wine from Orin Swift cellars, called Abstract, a full bodied ( with explosive blue fruits aromas! ) red blend. Hold on to your glass!

Laurent
Happy Valentine day to all of Sun Singer customers and friends! It is a busy week end and … We still have the tasting . No! I won’t pour any sweet sparkling ; not this time…Instead we start the tasting with a Gruner Veltliner to celebrate the heat wave, followed by a peachy Verdicchio. Then I will pour a classic Bordeaux style with the Chateau St Seurin and we’ll finish with an opulent Spanish red wine made with Tempranillo Grape called 24 Mozas from the Toro appelation .
Read MoreBonsoir or Bonjour fellow tasters! For today’s tasting, Saturday the 7th of February 2026, we have very nice and affordable wines under $20.00! I hope you’re all doing all right between the crazy weather rollercoaster-style and the holiday rush being upon us. Here we have four wines that might help. First, a delightful, surprisingly affordable sparkling from Spain made with the Barbadillo grape. You never had one? Then come and taste it! It is surprisingly appetizing! The next wine is a Chardonnay made by Davis Bynum, a pioneer in wine making in 1973; then we’ll try anther Beaujolais - Villages Nouveau. We’ll finish with a red blend from Sicily. Yes! From Sicily, a blend of Cabernet, Merlot and Petit Verdot. You like trying new and delicious wines? Come and taste with me from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM!
Cheers!

Greetings fellow tasters…!
We only have 11 days until Christmas from today! I wish for you to have your shopping go well and on track. I know…I know… the snow is making everything complicated. But at Sun Singer we decided to taste wine regardless of the the amount of snow! So… we’ll start with a great sparkling from the CAVA appelation in Spain made by Federico Paternina; then we’ll have an interesting white from Chile called Mayu, made with the Pedro Ximenez grape. We’ll travel after to Italy with an easy red blend, Sella Antica, and we’ll finish with an intense and fruity cabernet from Napa Valley, Lion Tamer.
Happy Holidays!!

Greetings fellow tasters!
I hope you all had a good Thanksgiving and a good week! If you‘re having one of those “Deja-Vu” moments, you are totally right. There is nothing wrong with you! This coming Saturday, December 6th, we are tasting exactly the same wine as last week, November 29th. The reason is because weather was so bad that we are giving you the chance to taste those superb wines again! Isn’t it a good feeling to taste delicious wines while it’s a little cold outside? We’ll start with a Beaujolais Nouveau Rose, followed by the Schmitt and Sohne Piesporter Spatlese. Just two delicious wines! We’ll taste more fruits with the Red Beaujolais Nouveau, then we’ll finish with a great Cabernet Sauvignon from Healdsburg, California, the 2019 StoneStreet Cabernet Sauvignon. The Master of Ceremony will be Doug himself, our wine Manager!
Happy Holidays !

Greetings fellow tasters!
That’s it! This is IT! The one you were waiting for, after weeks of teasing everyone! Our Thanksgiving Tasting is here: we start with the refined JM Gobillard Premier Cru Champagne, followed by the Hippolyte Reverdy Sancerre and all its minerality! Next we’ll have the Cote Rotie, 100% Syrah from the Saint Cosme Estate, and we’ll finish with a delicious Brunello Di Montalcino made by the San Giorgio Winery. Quite a treat before the Holiday!
Sincerely,
Votre Serviteur,
Laurent
Greetings my fellow tasters! As we’re approaching Thanksgiving, we’re having our third installment of wine pairings with the Holiday meal and you will not be disappointed. We start with Yealands Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, followed by the ZD Chardonnay, and the Pinot Noir. Both are amazing wines on their own and would make a fine pairing at a great price! We finish the tasting with the Sin Zin from Alexander Valley Vineyards and its lively aromas of black cherry, pepper, vanilla and oak. Cheers my friends!

Laurent
Greetings fellow tasters! Do you feel the holiday tremors already? And you’re already stressing about it? Well… we have a remedy here at Sun Singer: it is called a Wine Tasting! This week we’ll start with a white blend from the Languedoc region in France… silky and savory; we'll continue with a white made solely with the Roussane grape, in the same spectrum as the previous one but with a little more spice to it. Our third wine is called the Custodian, made by d’Arenberg, with one grape: Grenache. Critics agree it is smoooth….We’ll finish with the Merlot made by Alexander Valley Vineyards: certified sutainable, well balanced, fruity with fine tannins. Join us and relax this Saturday from Noon to Four!
Cheers!
Votre Serviteur,
Laurent
Today’s tasting is the first installment of our series about wine pairing and Thanksgiving dinner. We start with a delightful Albarino from Spain, from the Rias Baixas appellation, that has a little saltiness in the finish, followed by a dry Pinot Gris made by Kracher, in the Burgenland in Austria. From there we‘ll have the Carnemere made by Las Ninas, in Chile: complex with aromas of chocolate, dark fruits, herbs and spices and all of that for $13.99! We’ll finish with the epitome of the Cabernet Sauvignon in Paso Robles: robust dark fruits flavors, oak, solid structure…Certified Sustainable. Quite a finish for the tastimng. No pun intended.Enjoy!

Laurent
Greetings my friendly fellow tasters! So today’s Saturday 25th tasting is about French grapes…Or is it? I will let you decide and we can talk about it! We’ll start with a Kosher Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand followed by a Semillon from Australia - Hunter Valley to be precise! Now the third wine is from France, (finally) an elegant and silky Cabernet Franc from the Bourgeuil appelation that is dear to me beside the Rhone wines… And we finish the tasting with a Roederer Estate Sparkling Wine, which tastes just like a Champagne… It is not a Champagne, but made by subsidiary of the famous French Chamapgne House… All that can be pretty confusing, right?
Come over and we’ll talk about it!
Sincerely,
Laurent
